Sometimes a hole&#8217;s gotta happen, but I try to keep things wireless and non-invasive whenever I can. That&#8217;s the lens most of this blog is written through: retrofit-friendly smart home solutions for houses that weren&#8217;t built with any of this in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is this blog for me?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you live in an older house and you&#8217;re curious about smart home tech \u2014 or already knee-deep in converting your own place \u2014 this blog is written with you in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why I&#8217;m writing this?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honestly? Mostly for myself. It&#8217;s a way to keep track of my own smart home journey \u2014 what worked, what didn&#8217;t, what I&#8217;d do differently. If a few useful bits and pieces spill over to you along the way, even better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Author<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m a software engineer, born in 1983, living in a typical Finnish suburban house built in 1991. I&#8217;ve been into smart home tech for several years now, and slowly making this house smarter has become one of my main hobbies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I write about that journey here \u2014 the DIY projects, the trial and error, the small wins. If I&#8217;m honest, I wish I&#8217;d started writing this down years ago. It would have saved me a lot of repeated mistakes.<br><br>Want to get in touch?
