{"id":1211,"date":"2022-11-06T13:12:19","date_gmt":"2022-11-06T13:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.creatingsmarthome.com\/?p=1211"},"modified":"2023-11-06T13:00:24","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T13:00:24","slug":"home-assistant-nord-pool-cheapest-hours-package","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.creatingsmarthome.com\/index.php\/2022\/11\/06\/home-assistant-nord-pool-cheapest-hours-package\/","title":{"rendered":"Home Assistant: Nord Pool cheapest hours package"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In previous post <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.creatingsmarthome.com\/index.php\/2022\/09\/17\/home-assistant-nord-pool-spot-prices-and-how-to-automate-devices-for-cheapest-hours\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.creatingsmarthome.com\/index.php\/2022\/09\/17\/home-assistant-nord-pool-spot-prices-and-how-to-automate-devices-for-cheapest-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\">Home Assistant: Nord Pool Spot prices and how to automate devices for cheapest hours<\/a> I created an automation that uses Nord Pool Spot prices for automations, but the examples were not complete and I got lots of questions how to finalise and\/or improve the code to do specific things like setting the end time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this post I&#8217;m going to tackle the installation issue and give a a full example (using packages) that can be easily copy-pasted to your own environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the cheapest hours package<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Before continuing, please read the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.creatingsmarthome.com\/index.php\/2022\/09\/17\/home-assistant-nord-pool-spot-prices-and-how-to-automate-devices-for-cheapest-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\">original post<\/a> and setup the Nord Pool integration (and Apex charts if you wish) if you already haven&#8217;t!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m using <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.home-assistant.io\/docs\/configuration\/packages\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.home-assistant.io\/docs\/configuration\/packages\/\" target=\"_blank\">packages<\/a> throughout my whole Home Assistant instance. It groups each functionality to its own files instead of mixed amount with configuration.yaml, automation.yaml, etc.. So, just copy paste the <em>nordpool_cheapest_hours.yaml<\/em> from my <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/kotope\/ha_nordpool_cheapest_hours\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/github.com\/kotope\/ha_nordpool_cheapest_hours\" target=\"_blank\">GitHub repository<\/a> to the Home Assistant config folder and set the following lines in the <em>configuration.yaml<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>homeassistant:\n  packages:\n    nordpool_cheapest_hours: !include nordpool_cheapest_hours.yaml<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course you should also change the entities and modify the automation for your own purposes.
